Since you all know I’m a balsamic freak, the fact that I love this recipe should come as no surprise. Even if you’re not a balsamic vinegar addict, you will love this recipe for it’s simplicity.
If you don’t have a good quality cooking spray, I would recommend drizzling with olive oil instead, because the butter flavor in the recipe doesn’t come from those nasty “butter-flavored” cooking sprays. Ick.

Asparagus with Balsamic Butter
Servings: 4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus trimmed
- cooking spray or extra-virgin olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Arrange the asparagus on a baking sheet. Coat with cooking spray (or drizzle with olive oil), and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake asparagus 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until tender.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat, and stir in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. Pour over the baked asparagus to serve.
